Kylie Durbach is a strong, independent woman with the drive to achieve whatever she puts her mind to. She shares her views on relationships, life and goals.

She was born in Johannesburg and resides in Morningside with her parents, brother and beloved miniature Yorkies. She is Jewish and believes highly in God as a greater power who watches over all we do.

Partying and Passion

Kylie loves going out and partying with friends. Her favourite hang out is Taboo, a club in Fredmond Drive. But she also enjoys a nice relaxed vibe, like having a quiet dinner with friends or sipping cocktails at a bar.

She has a passion for everything she does, which pushes her beyond limits to achieve her ultimate goal. She is studying to be a teacher as she loves working with children. And she will continue studying until she finds out exactly what it is she really wants, but it must entail kids.

Relationships and Hardships

She has been in a relationship for over two years. ‘In the beginning many people wanted to destroy my happiness, but it only made our relationship stronger,’ she says.

Knowing that she could overcome every hurdle, she has realised the power of love and strength. When she was younger she was teased relentlessly about her curly, bushy hair, braces and glasses.

That is all now in the past and as you look into her magnificent eyes you see her self-esteem radiate through. The teasing strengthened her as a person and taught her about how other people’s insecurities should not be put onto you. Their cruel characters actually changed her life for the better.

Women Deserve Respect

Kylie believes that the biggest hurdle facing women in South Africa is abuse and the lack of speaking out. All women deserve respect. The rape and abuse statistics in South Africa are sky-high and we all need to speak out and take a stand against this.

Remember, we all have a voice, ‘I am woman! Hear me roar.’
