When they created dynamite, they were thinking of Mzansi Sista Nonhlanhla Ntuli, known as Nonti to her friends and family.
Rose Amongst the Thorns
Nonti was born in
She is Christian, raised in a Roman Catholic home. She believes there’s a higher being who is the giver of life, but is not fixated on organised rituals. She is very conscious of the fact that the ‘Almighty’ is a spirit, thus is everywhere and anywhere when she needs him; allowing her to pray anywhere she feels she needs to talk to him.
Team Manager
Nonti is currently employed by Alexander Forbes Intermediary Services, which is a subsidiary of the Alexander Forbes Group. She has been there for seven years and is currently a team manager in administration. She is completing an undergraduate BCom in industrial and organisational psychology, ‘which I must say feels like I’ve been studying forever.’
For leisure Nonti loves hanging out with her large circle of friends, listening to music, organising trips and travelling. She is recently single (‘I got dumped just the other day, “Ha hahaha”’), but is never short of admirers who love her carefree spirit. She has no children, but looks forward to having a child in the future.
‘I believe children are a gift from God and are given to us to bring laughter, joy and happiness. One thing I have also picked up, however, is that babies don’t seem to like me much. I will smile and when I stretch out my hands to lift them up they frown and start crying. I don’t know what this means, but it’s worrying.’
Make Her Laugh
When it comes to a partner, he needs to make her laugh, be happy, support and understand her decisions, and appreciate her. Not one to mince her words, she prefers her men ‘smart, light skinned and handsome.’
When Nonti looks at her future, she sees herself living in a beautiful home, ‘living a comfortable yet successful and fulfilling life and to basically give back to the community in any way I possibly can.’
That said, she believes in the future of our country especially if every person contributes positively to the wellbeing of
HIV/Aids
‘I do, however, fear that the HIV/Aids pandemic might wipe us all out if we don’t start taking better care of ourselves and our younger generation. So we need to practice safe sex and create more awareness amongst those who might not know much about the disease.’
Nonti is very passionate about the subject of women and gender, stating eloquently that ‘women need to learn to stand up for themselves. We need to educate and empower ourselves and take better control of our lives. Most importantly, we need to stop settling for less and aim higher because we deserve to be respected and loved as we are the mothers of the world.’
