Sex is a central part of so many people's lives. Pick any group of people and they're at the very least thinking about it, doing it.
Celebrities…
Reading the back pages of the weekend newspapers is always interesting.
We read about all the weird and wonderful sexual goings on of the stars, sports people, musicians, artists, celebrities and public figures.
Most of what they do comes to our attention often for one simple reason. They're public figures and their lives are public. Some of them care if what they do is revealed, some don't, some of them purposefully make sure the media know about what they're doing.
Them and Us
Now, if we go looking through various websites and publications, if you spend some time with people willing to share the more personal aspects of their lives, we find something fascinating. There is no difference between what the 'celebrities' are doing and what we're doing.
Whatever it is, it's as much a part of so many people's lives. Pick any group of people, including some of your family, friends, colleagues, the people at gym, in the coffee shop I'm sitting in, they're at the very least thinking about it, fantasising about it, doing it and exploring it. Whatever it is.
But...
So often in the world there's a but.
We're brought up with a great deal of what I call the Unholy Trinity of guilt, shame and embarrassment, about our sexuality and our desires. Once we've got over that judgment, we have the problem of information.
Finding open, honest, non-judgmental information and guidance is not easy. And unfortunately, without this, many experiences are at the very least disappointing, often with more severe consequences.
Information
From the beginning of this journey one of my goals was to offer this. The best way to do something, the potentials, the possibilities and the problems. How to find, where to find, where to go, who to talk to...Time and time again at every talk I give, daily with the people I see, talk to and in the emails I receive, the need grows.
Please, PLEASE, ask the questions, find out how, what, where...For so many, sexuality is the most feared, the darkest part of life. As serious as it is, there's so much fun to be had, such excitement, joy, laughter and aliveness.
