Away from the busy streets, further into the foliage, high in the mountains is the Cybele Forest Lodge and Health Spa. Tranquil, mysterious, coming home is the easiest description.

Set on three hundred acres, but accommodating only 28 guests, this is the perfect place to watch the stars in the sky, take a magical walk to the secret river, indulge in sensual aromatherapy, and dine on exquisite cuisine.

The Forest

The heart of this magic is the forest – the jacaranda, the turpentine tree, the tibouchina and the African flame tree all growing together, waving you toward the enchanting hotel. Choose from the cottages or suites, each individually decorated and furnished to suit every taste. Some country with touches of urban, classic finishes.

If art is what you are looking for then the original paintings hanging above your head, or in the lounge, sets the scene. Antique furniture, indulgent bathrooms, personal attention, fully stocked mini bar and, in some cases, a private pool, all make this woodland a dynasty.

Forest Suite

All rooms and suites have private walled gardens, many with fantastic views of the mountain range over Hazyview. A lit fire in winter ensures cosy, warm nights, while the paddock suites include an upstairs gallery with additional accommodation and a second bathroom below.

Ah but wait! There is still the Forest Suite – Cybele’s jewel. It is the ultimate in luxurious indulgence without the guilt. Structured over one hundred and eighty square metres, it has every luxury: one of the three mini bars stocked only with French champagne, bathroom with own fireplace and television, private courtyard, large, sleek entertainment system and a private heated pool positioned in a spacious landscaped garden.

Forest Health Spa

The Forest Health Spa is a dream come true – pampering and superb self-indulgence. This is where you find your inner peace as expert body therapists lead you to nirvana in treatment rooms smelling fresh, yet melodious and peaceful. Facilities include several massage and beauty therapy rooms, two hydrotherapy baths, a steam room and spacious showers with multiple high-pressure jets.

Complement this experience with a visit to the gymnasium. With state of the art equipment and the magnificent view over the gardens into the forest, you can be assured of finding your chi.

Fine Dining

The dining experience at Cybele has made the restaurant one of the most talked about places internationally. How could it not be when the freshest ingredients are used, all grown organically in the garden and used by qualified chefs known the world over for their creativity?

If you do not know about Cybele Forest Lodge then perhaps its time you knew. They have won an award for the Best Country Hotel by MNET–FEDHASA; were nominated by Getaway Magazine as one of the top destinations in South Africa; their impressive wine list received an excellence award from Diners’ Club; and they were awarded a position in Tatler’s 50 best hotels of the world.
