Bistro Tea Wands

Bistro Tea wands are pencil-shaped, disposable, high-tech tea diffusers. They have a built-in mechanical filtration system that keeps the bitter components in while releasing the essence that produces a richly flavoured, lavishly fragrant brew. This cutting-edge, revolutionary design eliminates the need for teaspoons and minimises dripping.

Each package is dressed in a soft unique translucent wand or pod, which is not only aroma and fragrance protective, but also moisture-proof and tear resistant. Talking about resistance, Bistro Tea represents a modern tea drinking culture which is linked to an all-round revolutionary concept on how to Make Tea Simple.

Why Bistro Tea

Due to its absorbent properties, paper teabags remove all fats from the liquid that it filters. Ordinary filter paper absorbs the brewing colloids (flavour carriers) from the tea, whereas Bistro Tea pods purely filters the beverage through the perforation without any loss to quality or aroma.

Purity, design and safety are compulsory key features to Bistro Tea. The purpose designed pod-foil remains neutral and sterilisable even up to 121°C, eliminating any influence to taste. Noxious substances such as remainders of glues or plant-protective agents are absolutely non existent. The result is a pure natural beverage.

Bistro Tea uses Tea Leaves

Most traditional tea bags contain floor sweepings and tea dust. The pod concept favours the pouching of premium tea leaves which can be enhanced with natural tea extracts or flavours. Tea leaves absorb the fragrance and flavour from their natural surroundings. It is therefore essential to always use neutral utensils if you want to enjoy fine tea.

Each disposable Bistro Tea wand contains premium grade tea leaves and functions as both a traditional teabag and a stirrer. They ensure a perfectly clean infusion every time: the essences and aromatic oils in the tea leaves diffuse into the hot water with no buffering whatsoever.

The premium-grade Ceylon tea used in Bistro Tea wands is grown, harvested, selected and processed in Sri Lanka. They carry the prestigious Single Estate seal of the government of Sri-Lanka and are FDA approved.

Testing the Tea

Bistro Tea was the tea of choice by Fifa for the Gauteng hospitality VIP and VVIP suites during the recent 2010 World Cup. It is also the beverage of choice for the presidential plane and numerous luxury hotels and spas.

We gave one of our readers a fruit berry sachet to try and she responded, ‘The aroma is definitely pleasant on the nose. I enjoyed everything about making my cup of tea. It’s really easy and convenient. You don’t need sugar, milk or anything else.

All you need is a hot cup of water and the tea bag takes care of the rest. I would definitely like to try out other flavours.’
