Birkenhead House

Knowing they already had superiority just in the exquisite Overberg mountain setting and ocean views, they created that something that would give a Southern France, Greek Islands feel to it, but all under African settings.

International AcclaimThey have obviously done something right and with the help of staff and management offer full five star service and hospitality. Only opened in 2003, this establishment has already received five awards bringing it international acclaim.

Like a Gallery

Art, both old and new, adorns the walls of the suites, the lounge area, the spa and reception. Numerous pieces from the Everard Read Gallery have been used to create colour in the suites and add to the style. Travertine marble lines the floors through the hallway and further into the hotel while American-style shutters grace the windows.

There are eleven rooms on offer, all offering different levels of luxury. The superior and luxury rooms boast superb sea and mountain views with the honeymoon suite also boasting a private pool and patio.

The standard rooms may have limited views, but are still beautiful. All rooms come standard with en suite bathroom, entertainment system, gorgeous linen and room service. The rates are inclusive of accommodation, all meals and snacks, local beverages and house wines and full laundry.

Divine Spa

Extras that will have to be paid for include the divine spa treatments, which range from hand and foot remedies, massages, body therapy and facials. The soothing environment and general expertise of the therapists make this a must for guests.

There is a first-class gymnasium for the use of guests offering quality cardio-vascular equipment. This may seem agreeable, especially after sampling the exquisite cuisine from the fine restaurant. Breakfast and a light lunch are served near the pool area, while dinner is a romantic affair in the dining room overlooking the sea. There is an extensive wine list to complement any meal.

There is whale watching from the deck and for those who want to sample the rest of the area there are mountain and cliff trails, seaside walks, shark cage diving, deep-sea fishing, golf, horseback riding, sea kayaking and local wine tours.

First class Service

The staff is friendly without being intrusive and you are guaranteed first class service from the moment you step through the doors of Birkenhead House with a welcome drink, warm greeting, effusive thanks and open smiles. The atmosphere is pampered and luxurious and the staff is a big factor in ensuring this.

Why not be treated like a god or goddess while you have the chance is the question that seems to hang in the air as you walk through the hallway to the pool to enjoy a freshly made salad while sipping champagne?
